Hi,
I work 3 nights a week, 8.30pm till 7.30am. My mum looks after my DS but in about 6 months she is having an operation on her hands and its a six week recovery, i was just wondering if there is such thing as a 24 hour nursey as i'm not sure if i will be able to get someone too look after him on all the nights.
thnx xx

yes i think there are some there was one advertised in paper over here, huddersfield or somewhere
try ringing your local authority childcare provision
if not have you thought about an overnight nanny or babysitter? i used to work as both, you would pay about £50-80 per night though.....0 -
where are you based?0

Funny I was only thinking about this today. I am sure I have seen that there are such places, but I think they would be very expensive (could be wrong) and sorry but don't know where any are.0

One opened up in my town last year for overnight.(Yorkshire) There were restrictions on how long the child could spend in nursery. I have no idea how successful/unsucccessful it has been and if it is still doing this as I only read about it in local rag. At the time it said it was the first in the UK.
No one else who could help out? Could you change your shifts?0 -
spendless wer abouts ru based? was it the hudds one you are talking about, im sure i heard there was one there?
OP, you could try https://www.nannyjob.co.uk if you get stuck you can advertise on there for a sitter type person but you would be paying £50 + per night, maybe even over £80 depending on where you are.
maybe speak to work and change shifts for the short term? i hope you get sorted x0 -
i'm in west sussex, i would get help from tax credits if its a nursey.
I would probably be able to get help most nights but just if i couldnt, cant change my shifts either, it took me ages to get the nights.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Try ringing your local Children's Information Service. I think everywhere has one now, will also be on the web. They have lots of information on childcare options. There is a scheme called homecarers where a childminder comes to your home. Mind be worth a look at. Also some childminders will offer overnights.
Remember you also have a right to four week parental leave. This is unpaid but it might not be too bad if you take the childcare costs into consideration. You could take two weeks leave to make it up to six weeks.
Good luck. Sounds like a tricky one to solve.0 -
Airports is where I've seen them advertised near.Signature removed for peace of mind0
