Baby Sitting Circle

Any ideas and thoughts on this?

There are 30 Mums(friends now) in my group. We are thinking of setting up a babysitting circle between us. I just wondered if any of you have done this and what ideas you can give to go about setting it up succesfully?

Thanks for any tips and ideas.

sounds like a good idea - I am in a babysitting circle - although I seem to be the only one doing the babysitting! (see Neighbours thread and you will see what I mean!)

    Good luck.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I think the key to this, to ensure that it is fair is to set up a token system (virtual, not literal, although you could have real tokens if you want). Eg 30min baby sitting = 1 token, you can then exchange your tokens earned when you have babysat, for when you need some sitting doing. This way it's fair - you can only get the amount of sitting that you have done, thus avoiding a 'no give and all take situation'!
  • my mother in law is part of one, she tends to do more babysitting then actually having someone baby sit for her child as they dont like to leave her, but i know it is vvery successful. she found it on the internet for her area and registered.

Rules - If you babysit on a Wednesday will they owe you a Saturday night or will it just be like for like! Some people don't see why they should babysit on a weekend when they only ask for babysitters on a week night!!!!
    Something to think about!
