  • Looking out my window in the bt47 area at about 3 inches of snow so can't under stand why the area is not included for payments. I wouldnt get it anyway but live in a small village with a lot of older people who would, whoever decides these things should get their act together.

    The postcode areas eligible are: BT24-34, 39-46, 47-49, 51-57, 74-77, 80 and 92-94.
  • Not in BT41 according to direct Gov

The Met Office have notified the Department for Work and Pensions that no periods of very cold weather have occurred in the BT41 postcode area between 1 November 2010 and 6 December 2010 that would trigger a Cold Weather Payment. No Cold Weather Payments are due to be made.

I would think that it is down to the actual street that is the second part of the postcode, in any case it seems a bit of a lottery as it is down to where a weather station is located.

The link says BT26 doesn't get either, but I just checked my bank account and £25 has been deposited, so the information isn't reliable.
