When you take two of the most foul, horrible, old black bananas and turn them into a lovely banana cake and then lie to your husband that it is just a sponge cake and serve with custard to mask the banana taste as he hates bananas....he ate it though!...and still doesn't know.

Everyone's Christmas presents has either been bought in a sale during the year or you spent hours making crafty presents which you actually end up doing for birthdays too - everyone ends up with a hamper or a flannel reindeer!

How do you make a flannel reindeer? I think my Brother and SIL would prefer my nephew to have one of these next year instead of the percussion instruments I got him this Christmas. I found one of them behind the sofa after they had gone home LOL!

Glad it's not just my "yellow sticker radar" that gets confused in Morrisons! Even more confusing was when Asda used red whoopsie stickers instead of yellow ones for a while :undecided

You buy some Christmas crackers in the sale at 50% off and then when you're in the same shop the following week you find there's now 75% off, so you buy some more and then return the original pack for a refund!

MyRubyRed, i have taught myself to cook over this last 4 years.Some of mt best recipes have come from posts on this forum.:T

I started with soups, the veg puree type ones. Next was meat sauce(2lb) made into shepherds pie served on Mon., bolonaise sauce, served with spaghetti on Tue.,made into lasagne for Wed., and ended up as chilli con carne on thur.
A friend talked me through the ingredients and method over the phone. I couldn't believe that by adding a few extra ingredients to this meat sauce i could have so many different tasting meals IYKWIM.
All these dishes i now make regulary and always have them frozen in the freezer for lazy dinners.
