Hi Lydia, thanks for your reply. No I am in Essex. Other hairdressers are saying its reasonable. £50 sounds good though. Perhaps i will look for some other quotes.
We got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T0 -
My local hairdresser is charging £25 for an up-do and £10 for a blow dry, we are going in to the salon to have it done. Practises are £10 for an up-do if they don't wash it or £25 if they they wash and put it up.Bump due 22nd September0

hmm £140 sounds a lot ?
not sure tho guess it depends on how good a hairdresser it is and exactly what you are having done
I have booked my trial for 5ht feb (so exactly 1 month before the wedding aarrggghhh lol) they are going to have a go at putting big loose curls in my hair and then maybe a tiara or pretty clip (I have bought a few things to try out)
then we will see a) if i like it and b) if the curls last more than 5 minutes in my hair lol
if i dont like it or the curls dont last then I am just going straight with something pretty in my hairMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
Only tip I can give you is 'I once and once only' spent an absolute fortune & went to London to have my hair done - cost me a mint! but never regretted it - went to the cream of the cream & was thrilled with it.
Hello, hope you don't think this is cheeky but would you mind posting/PM'ing me the name of the London hairdresser you went to? I really want to do this as a treat and have saved up for it but don't really know which hairdresser to go for
I'm also a bit scared that they'd be a bit snooty and intimidating - how did you find the experience?
Thanks

Its on the high side, I've just turned down hairdresser quoting £75! Going for local hairdresser, who does fab hair for £40!! I have shoulder length hair and just need a blow dry it would be extra £10 for an 'up-do':rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
Yellow bug - just one thing I found, get your hair done early as you can for the practise and don't try to look after it especially throughout the day then you'll get a better idea of whether it will last. HTHBump due 22nd September0

Well I will get her to do my highlights and see if I can find any lower quotes locally. I have fine hair so its important it looks good on the day. Maybe I can knock her down a bit if I get some other quotes

You can look at pictures of everything from hair and make up to cakes and dresses. They also have real life weddings on there too
When selecting hair styles I right clicked the image I liked, pasted it onto a word document and then added more as I went along, I then printed out the word document and took it to the hairdressers so they could get an idea of what styles I liked.
Hope that helps.0 -
For me i think its going to be trial and error. I've seen the pic I like, but will it like my face?
