Back To Wall WC - concealed cistern required

Hello I do hope that you can advise me please.

Our under-stairs loo is a BTW with a saniflo macerator on the back which also serves the small wash basin. The macerator was put in because the plumber thought we might not be able to get the "fall" required for a normal flushing set-up. We are fed up with the maceractor and want to get rid of it.

We like the actual BTW toilet, which is higher than usual but are planning to remove the macerator. We are getting builders in to create a "fall" in conjunction with laying a new floor.

Questions:

1 Could we keep the BTW toilet pan and "add" a concealed cistern to it?
2 Or would we have to replace the pan AND the macerator and get a
complete BTW pan & cistern?
3 how would we cater for the wash basin waste?

Your advice would be much appreciated.

Steve

Does your existing loo have a cistern ? or is it the type of Saniflo without ?
If the toilet is against the wall where are you going to "conceal" the cistern ?
What type of construction is your floor ?
Do you have sufficient space to run the wash basin waste pipe to the main down pipe - I am not sure that you will be able to run that into the outlet from the toilet.

I fear that the original plumber may not have gone for a saniflo only on the reason you state but also on a very considerable cost differential.

This thread could really do with a picture, otherwise most advice is going to be pure guesswork.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

That bit isn't a problem..you can buy a pan connector with a boss connection for 1 1/4" inch waste pipe (straight pan connector or angled are available) so just hook the basin waste into that as the waste from basin to macerator will be close by anyway so should save some hassle.

Is the wc pan a cisternless one like this..if so it doesn't look to me like you can reuse the pan...won't be a hole for flushpipe from the new concealed cistern for starters and i'm doubtful you can remove the macerator part to just leave a standard pan behind (i may be wrong ...just looking at the cryptic instructions doesn't look promising to me).

Having recently fitted a BTW toilet and concealed cistern myself i'd probably say to go for a close-coupled toilet instead...far less hassle and no need to purchase or build a unit for your cistern.

However i think it's much neater having a BTW pan as all the pipework is concealed. If you do go for a BTW pan then i'd highly recommend an Ideal Standard Conceala2 cistern and flushplate for it. I screwed my cistern to the wall and then built a unit around it with the end result that it occupied the same space in the room as the close-coupled toilet it replaced.
