How to force a firmware update on a Technika DIGI200 Freeview Box

Picked up a Technika DIGI2000 Freeview box at my regular car boot sale but it has a habit of locking up after about half an hour with a black screen and won't respond to the remote control any more. A quick power on/off gets it going again but if I leave it powered on with no aerial plugged in and no connection to a TV it will run for hours and still responds to the remote so I suspect a firmware bug rather than a heat problem. Selecting "check for updates" via the menus says "no new updates available" but I wondered if there was any way to force a refresh of the firmware (like you can with a Sky box). Googling around has so far failed to turn up anything useful. The box itself looks identical to the Audioline TA3000 on sale in Tesco but I can't find anything about that one either.
Retired so trying to save even more!
