Current Account Questions

Hi,

Hoping someone may be able to help me with a couple of queires, pleasE?

1. How many Halifax Reward Current accounts can one person have? Because of the £5 reward, I am thinking to open more than one so that we can gain maximum benefit (A bit of juggling to ensure the £1k goes into each every month but worth it)
I'm thinking of one for me, one for my partner, and one joint, but can't find any information to say if this is acceptable. Might even consider more than one in my name if this is permited?

2. We have a Premier Direct joint account with A&L, which gives a very good interest rate for the first year. It says only one account per person, but as I was the primary applicant I want to open another in her name. Anyone know if this is allowed?
It might have been better to just open two single accounts on reflection, but we needed a joint one as she will be applying for a permanent visa in the UK and these things help the process....

Cheers for any advice

Phil

You can have one in joint names, and one in your sole name.
  • you can open an A&L a/c in Jnt names and 1 each in sole names.

Go via Quidco and get cashback for opening an a/c and then send off a recommendation form , found on A&L website and share another £50

BUT BEWARE THESE ACCOUNTS HAVE TO BE FUNDED BY £500 PER MONTH OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE CHARGES / FINES TO PAY

FURTHERMORE THE £500 DEPOSIT HAS TO COME FROM AN BANK OTHER THAN A&L (NO INTERNAL TRANSFERS

Thanks Prince Charming - already got the joint account so will think about getting one each in our own names. Not worried about the funding as I can use the same £500 for all three and juggle it between them and my Barclays account.

I read elsewhere that you could have more than one each with Halifax - guess I'll have to make a quick call to find out for 100% sure as it is best to be safe!

    Cheers all

One joint account and one in your name only. They used to allow you up to three Reward accounts, but that changed in November.
