I passed 11 years ago, I believe just after they switched the rules so that you no longer got Category C1 on your licence by default, so all I have is B1, cars, vans up to 3 tonne etc and milkfloats. Which is a shame, theres been times in the past when i could have done with being able to drive something larger for house moving purposes.

Congratulations by the way, nice to pass isn't it

Before they changed in in 1998 I think, you could drive all kinds of weird and wonderful things...things with caterpillar tracks spring to mind but I'm sure there's others.

On a full licence you will get the following categories:
    • B, BE, C1, C1E, D1, D1E, f, k, l, n, p
On the 'code' column of the back of the licence, the following codes are used for the following categories:
    • C1E - 107
    • D1 - 101
    • D1E - 101, 119
For what the codes mean, refer to http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/WhatCanYouDriveAndYourObligations/DG_10022623

Sorry I'm fairly sure that you are wrong on that one Rev, a Track Laying Vehicle has always needed a separate test from a car licence.

Not many people bothered because they are used mainly off road.

    Confirmed, group H not included.
