Love Film- not

Hi. I took out a free 2 week trial with the dvd post service, love film. I found a title that looked great as I had missed the series on Tv. It was called 24 and was a box set. I ordered it and waited....and waited and before I knew it I had my first payment taken out of the bank and....still waiting. I telephoned them and told them that I wasnt happy about a 'free trial' that never gave me anything and that I wanted to cancel. I then explained to the lady that I wasn't happy about being charged and not yet receiving a film and was told that I should of added at least 10 titles in my shopping list for the service to work well. I asked if I could get my £9.98 back and she said I was breaking up and couldn't hear me. I spoke slowly and she said that she could hear me now. I asked for my money back as a goodwill gesture for a service i didnt receive, and she said it states in the t&c's that they take the money exactly on the 14th day, regardless of whether titles had been despatched or not. I told her I would be putting my experience on a consumer forum and once again she said i was breaking up. I said you must have selective hearing and she replied with 'no its the phone line'. Amazing how they can hear certain things. Anyway, i finished by saying i wasn't happy and she just said thanks for your call, goodbye, and hung up... Love film - yes. love this service - NO!

Make sure you cancel in writing, otherwise you'll have another amount deducted next month too.

In fact, if it's 1 months notice to quit, you're already too late...

When you write to cancel, also complain, and ask for a refund. They do ask you to select 10 choices though, as they only have a finite number of each film/series, so if you put 1 choice, you'll have to wait until it comes available, and chances are there are other people waiting ahead of you...
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

to be fair, it does say at the top of the page to add at least 10 titles to your list. this is to ensure this kind of thing doesn't happen and have something to send you

You dont really have a complaint, you asked for one film, and like any other service, you must wait for your turn, unfortunately this didnt happen within time. If your unhappy by all means cancel but you neither should, or deserve any refund, i personally find lovefilm by far the best value and best service for dvds/games.

As all said above, the T+C's are clearly set out.

Lovefilm have very good CS and have always been helpful (even when I cancelled my account they didn't pressure me to stay).

Lesson learnt is all I say. Just be thankful you didn't sign up for a massive pack on the free trial.

I got the maximum package I could on the free trial, including games. However I did make sure I cut it back before the end of the trial period. Must say I've had absolutely no problems with the service, and they are very good with replacements for the odd damaged DVDs that I've received.

I definitily agree that Lovefilm is excellent as far as customer services goes! been with them for 2 years now and had the free trial to start of with took the lowest dvd package they had available at £3.99 I get my 2 dvd's a month provided a return the others and make sure that I always have more than 10 titles on my list and as far as I know when you add 10 completely new titles every month you are entitled to another bonus title so in effect I get 3 movies a month for a measly £4, that I cant knock thats fo sure. Hope you get it sorted tho OP as its never nice when you dont get something you signed up for it was not to your expectations;)
LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT

Ive had no problems with them. Ive always had loads of things on my list and they are a mixture of popular newer things and older things that I dont think are as popular. If you wanted 24 and it was the only thing you had on your list Im not surprised you had problems, its been on my list for months. Its just the way it works.
