Can I decorate?

Hello their, had concrete render followed by plaster skim downstairs, from floor up to about half way to the ceiling. Had it done I would say a month ago. Feels and looks dry, but I have heard not to decorate for at least 6 months, is this true? What are your opinions? Thanks!

Not going to be very helpful .
    Answer .... it depends ,
On the original wall , thickness of render , thickness of plaster, drying conditions etc.

Told you would not be helpful :D
Also what are you planning to cover the plaster with
    Emulsion ? Paper ??
heard not to decorate for at least 6 months

    That seems over the top.
I had my walls ( long time ago , rendered, plastered ) was over a summer and I papered within weeks , paper looked fine for years.

you shouldnt paper for 6/12 months on new walls, due to expansion/contraction.
emulsion painting is ok when the wall is dry. i would go ahead now.
    Get some gorm.

Im papering, the render I would say is about an inch to 2 inches thick in some parts, and plaster obviously just a skim. Heating on at night for 3 hours and same again in morning! Thanks!

    Anyone else?
  • I presume this work was part of a damp proof system? If so is there any stipulations regarding decorating that would effect any guarantee?
  • After 6 weeks you be ok.
