Where to get solar power lighting from ?

I wondered if there was someway of rigging up a solar panel to some rechargeable batteries which would power a small fluorescent light for a few minutes.
I need to get a light in the garage but dont want to have to dig up about a dozen flags to lay cables underneath.
Has anyone got any experience of solar lighting ?
