it says chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts (Y/N)0 -
Do yes and reboot the machine it will start.0

did that and it ran through the disk check at start. Logged in and am back on the wallpaper with the eggtimer again now - has been like this for at least 10mins now.
Anything else I could try?
