Hi i recently switched from prepayment meters to billed

anyways i have an old boiler probably 10+years old. BG asked if i wanted Homecare and said they send engineer to have a look.

anyways being xmas and all i had never arranged to book an engineer

i signed up for it around 12th of December..

just checked my account today and noticed a directdebit for £16 for British Gas Serv

if they come to house and say they won't cover will they just refund/credit the £16 to my account

Yes any fees paid will be refunded if the boiler fails the First Inspection.

Is it up to the customer to contact BG and arrange the first inspection?

I started a policy 4 or 5 months ago and this post has reminded me they've never been out to me.

It should have been booked at point of sale. Normally within the first 28 days to allow BG to make sure they have parts ect to maintain your boiler.

Just give them a call to arrange it.
