Adelante charge 6.5%, but then suggest you can set it higher eg 11.5% and they would refund the additional 5%. (Unless i've misread their website).

Unfortunately I have no control over prices etc as they are set by i. Local Authority & ii. The Company whom I get the work from.

If I was to be totally honest, I would say this "Private Hire Driver" is a tough job to be in and whilst you are self employed you have very little control over your business. Infact, I would suggest that being self employed only benefits the company that you work for. The worst case senario will be that I have to cover the cost of using the system myself, because the company will not allow me to pass the cost on, or even told that I am not permitted to use the system instead having to suggest the customers use the office fascilities (So the company can make additional revenue).

Hmm, you are not self employed in the way that my brother is. He has had arangements in the past were a Taxi radio sevice gives him work & they get a cut - but he can use his own payment system.
