Her hieght and weight are exactly what i was at her age, and my mum must of been worried because she took me to the doctors. They weighed me, asked what i ate etc.. to which i answered 'i eat till i'm full then i stop' simple really. Also i was active girl, swimming, horse riding, gymnastics, and either walked everywhere or cycled.

She hasn't finished growing yet so give her a chance. Her school friends are probably jealous. Let face it kids are nasty to anyone who is fat, thin, wears glasses, has spots, is too bright, too dim...........the list is endless.

Generally, bulimics are not that thin. Most are normal weight or more.

Thanks for all the helpful remarks.I am her dad, though.I`m sure that she is not bulumic - her jealous sisters would have noticed. She is just lucky to have a high metabolism I suppose.I think I was thinking that as her mother has a big weight problem, then DD was going too far to avoid the same. The girls who tease her will leave school next month,so that problem will go.
Last summer, she spent a couple of weeks with a German family. The mother said "you are so thin" and almost tried to forcefeed her.She had to complain to her teacher.
Just remembered, when she was very young,we were warned that she might be in danger of being taken away for `failure to thrive`.Never heard of that before.

My son was born underweight and has been painfully thin ever since! When he's naked, you can see his ribs, spine and hip bones poking through his skin.

He's 9 now and manages to eat more food than me in a day, and he's otherwise fit and healthy, so I'm not that worried about him. I think he's just going to be naturally skinny.
Here I go again on my own....

All through my childhood I was painfully thin. My mother was always convinced I wasn't eating enough. Now I need to lose weight! :(

If she's healthy in every way but just getting teased, I'd deal with that rather than trying to MAKE her put weight on and giving her even more of a complex about it.

She's lucky. So many women would love to have a size 6/8 figure!
