  • Hi,

I love this website. It helped me sort out problems with a water bill, gave me advice on mortgages and now this great thread!

I started writing a Mills and Boon last summer but put it down when i started a new job. I've now picked it up again and I'm really determind to finish it. I've got about 46,000 words and will probably need another 15,000 to finish it. Then it will need some serious editing and re-writing!

Keep up the posts its great to hear from other would-be Mills and Boon writers!

Hi all, good luck with your writing this week everyone.

I came across this interesting and amusing article about a woman who attends a Mills and Boon writing holiday.

  • I loved that article. Thanks for posting.

I can't imagine myself dressing up in lingerie etc to write a scene but I liked the idea of cutting out male and female images and writing scenes where they meet up.

Something real life we could even try out - have you read the Sunday papers today? It isn't a joke, but real apparently -the actress who plays Heather in Eastenders has got engaged to a penniless goatherd from abroad, half her age and they made passionate love in a field because he lives with his parents. All the makings of a novel.
  • Hi,

Mills and Boon are offering 10 free downloads (one from each genre) I think as part of their anniversary. I can't post the link but if you google everyonesreading it should come up.

    Good for research :T

You have to download special reader software first.
  • Hi,

Thanks for posting the link. There are 16 free titles if you google: tryharlequin I think these are just PDFs so you don't have to download the software this time.

I'll be taking them on holiday to read :rotfl:

Good luck with your move Beccie :)

Since I discovered MSE my fiction writing has nearly ground to a halt - too distracting, so hope you can carry on with your book.

I suppose we all need to look at our priorities - what is more important, getting a book published or reading and posting in message boards?

Perhaps the feeling of being part of a group can fulfill inner needs - so if that's the case we would have to use a lot of discipline to get the writing done as we'd be tempted to go online instead.

Have a good writing week everyone!
