I've just discovered this thread, I'll read it later when I get the chance. I write Roman historical thrillers.

Hi, just wanted to say I've almost finished my first full book for Harlequin and I have 5 more stories which I'm adding to everyday. I'm going to try write 3 before sending any in, this one has taken almost a month.

I'm just not sure if it's what they're looking for, it's a bit of a gamble but I enjoy writing so much it I find it cathartic and ideas just keep flowing the more I research and watch relevant films. If it does get accepted however I'll make this into a full time career, it doesn't feel like work and besides I have social anxiety so the solitary nature suits me just fine.

Good luck to everyone else-keep up the good work! I'll let you know if it is accepted.

    Welcome LuckyLucy:)

Have you checked out the M&B site? you only need to send in the first three chapters and a synopsis and it takes 8-12 weeks to be assessed so you could carry on writing in the meantime:)

I have a question to anyone who has submitted to M&B before, I sent mine by email but received no confirmation but the email didn't bounce, there is no way to contact them except for the email address I used, do you think I should contact them on that address to see if they have my work or do you think its a dedicated submissions no reply type of address?, I just want to know that they've received it, I'm not worried about how long it takes:o

I have been wondering how you are all getting on. Well done LL on all your achievements.

Glowgirl, did you check your spam folder? I often find important emails in there.

I've heard the acknowledgment email with a reference number can take a while to arrive.

    Hi glowgirl

I don't think 2 weeks is bad, but do email again to put your mind at rest.

I've been busy at home (from being alone to having a houseful) so haven't given writing much thought. And with this new system on the computer I don't think I'd dare do anything until I can understand it better.

I can't get used to Windows XP at all. Most of the buttons and functions I had before have disappeared, the fonts are still too small, and because I lost the ability to log in to all my accounts, I had to clear cookies etc and I checked a function which I didn't really understand and now every time I write a reply like this one, I have to press on the word 'allow' that appears at the top of the browser before it gets published. Often I forget and presume it's gone through, go to another page and lose it

That free word processor you mentioned, is the work you do on there completely private or can anyone else read it?
