How much are your holidays worth to you?

Poll Started 26 June 2006. We tend to get fewer holidays in the UK than the rest of Europe, and more than the USA. So how much are your holidays worth to you? How much would you be willing to sell your summer holiday time back to your employer for?

1. Not bothered. I'd prefer money, even if only standard pay
2. Double pay. I could spend the extra cash on enjoyable things
3. Triple pay. I love my holiday, but for that much cash I'd take it
4. Ten times pay. I’m not for sale, unless it’s huge!
5. Not for sale. My quality of life is more important than the cash.
6. Not working/self-employed. I only wish I had paid holiday

I only get 4 weeks, which isn't enough, so no sale on my holidays. I really need to get a better job.

I love my job, I can turn up and leave when I want to, do things in whatever order I want to and can work from home when I want to. And most of it's on spreadsheets which is one of my favourite things (oh how sad am I lol). But holidays are absolutely not for sale.

24 days pa + 12 day flexitime none for sale (though this year I have an extra 12 days from an extended holiday scheme, making a total of 48 days + bank holidays!)... My holidays certainly aren't for sale and next year I may for the first time buy more holiday (at standard rate).

DH gets school hols. NONE of them are up for sale....especially the majority which coincides with the kids' school hols.

I get 28 days per year, and as I have to work practically every bank holiday, up to 8 lieu days.

I generally sell 5 days back to the company (the maximum I'm allowed to) at standard pay rates. That still leaves me with over 4 weeks holiday, plus my lieu days, and gives my bank balance a little boost after Christmas.

Christmas is definitely not for sale (I usually extend this to a couple of weeks ... my main holiday is definitely not for sale (and no I am not one of those sad gits that takes a mobile with them 'just in case') ... thereafter I am quite willing to negotiate - however since it will be purely deadline related and not revenue related I expect the company to pay me what they charge me out at (so 10 times is about right)
