microsoft excel 97

Can anyone supply a simple link where I can download Microsoft excel 97. Prefer without having to supply email address if possible. Thanks
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

AFAIK there are no legal free downloads for Excel 97 - It is still a licensed MS product, even though they no longer sell it. There are of course places where you can download it free, but they won't be legal copies, and they may contain malware.

If you just need to view an Excel spreadsheet, MS provide a free downloadable Excel viewer, but you obviously can't make changes with that.

If you need to be able to edit an Excel spreadsheet then OpenOffice will do the trick, and it will save the result in the proper Excel format. OpenOffice is free and you don't need to give an email address.

I'd say open office as well, but if you must have Excel then, depending on what you're trying to do, the 60 day trail of Office 2007 may be useful

  • Office 2010 Beta is a free download from Microsoft and expires in October this year. Give it a go.
