For the last time: I appreciate having to answer questions that relate to my origibal questions in order that people can help me *BUT* as I said - I take offence at people saying things like 'you negotiate and they pay' - why is this relevant?? It isn't!
Thank you but tax credits are not benefits - they may be beneficial but child benefit is a seperate thing. Perhaps I should have specified that I won't be applying for means-tested benefits - just the £20 every household with a child is entitled to.0 -
Tax credits are means tested benefits though are different from income based benefits. Savings can affect TC but they only look at the interest that your savings produce and anything over £300 you have to declare. I really do not think that your money will produce this amount of interest anyway.blue~skies wrote: »For the last time: I appreciate having to answer questions that relate to my origibal questions in order that people can help me *BUT* as I said - I take offence at people saying things like 'you negotiate and they pay' - why is this relevant?? You will qualify, make sure you claim before the baby is 3 months. I am not sure whether you will get the full £500 though!blue~skies wrote: »Thank you! I hadn't thought of the sure start maternity grant. I didn't think we would qualify in a million years but having been on entitledto and HMRC we will be getting about £45 per wk which seems really high. Not that I will complain! So I guess it's worth looking in to - they can only say no eh?! xxxxx0 -

I think you're nit picking about this; WTC are a form of means tested benefits (ie if your earnings are below a certain amount then you're eligible) just as is housing benefit etc. I can see that you're not trying to claim something that you're not entitled to but don't try to pretend, even to yourself, that you're not claiming something from the benefits system!0 -
OMG the morons in this forum strike yet again. it baffles me sometimes how some in here think they are intelligent yet can't even give a clear and concise answer to the OP's actual question without it deviating. Jesus just answer the origional question or SHUT UP....!!!0

Well, I'm sure all the "morons" on here will be happy not to waste any more of their time in answering any more questions you may have!
When someone comes to ask about their eligibility to claim means tested benefits and then denies that's what they're trying to do, it seems pretty relevant to me to point out the inconsistencies in their attitude!0 -

Well i read threads like this. The Op asks a simple question. To me a simple question deserves a simple answer. A few posts down the OP asks a further question which again deserves a simple answer, but here we go again, people either through jealousy or their sheer stupidity deviate and ask further questions which do not need asking. Jesus read the question and give it an answer !!!!!!.!.
Hi DMG by the way...:D0 -
