Any solicitors recommended in central/west London area.

Hi
I have had an offer accepted on a flat in Notting Hill and am looking to instruct a solicitor as required.
Does anyone have any recommendations of someone they have worked well with? I am ideally looking for a fixed fee basis.
I ask the state agent and they sent the details through of a firm they recommended, but the quote, with everything added up and from what I can make out it looks to come to around £1400, which is more than I was expecting. Is this to much or am I being unreasonable?
Thanks in advance.

You can use a solicitor anywhere in London or outside London as it would be cheaper. The only issues you may have is proving who you are if you can't get to their offices, as you need another solicitor to do this which may cost you something.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
