    Travelrepublic gets my vote.

Never had any problems using them and excellent in terms of cost.

Hiya, I am using Thomsons for flights this year. It will be our first time in private renting a app.

Last year we booked with Thomas Cook SC.

Our family like all the Canarie islands but we have visited Tenerife the most.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.

May be worth looking at flights through travelsupermarket.com & then accomodation only via tripadvisor.com or thomson website as doing it seperately can work out cheaper.

    Hi

This is the first time I have booked independantly of the big Tour operators.

For flights I find skyscanner great for finding me cheapest dates to travel then book direct with on line airlines or compare to prices from from online TA (direct usually cheaper).

For accomodation travelrepublic and alpharooms both great. TR slightly dearer which might be ofset by the 5% cashback through quidco/top caskback.

Have booked easter and am about to book summer doing it this way too, have saved a lot v doing it through our usual tour operator.

We booked Lanzarote flights with Easyjet, hotel with Travel Republic (used TR twice now and had no problems at all)

I would use a comparison site like travelsupermarket.com as no one supplier will be cheaper in every case. There are also some companies that are not on the comparison sites but can be competitive. One I like is sunshine.co.uk which offers 7% cashback on accommodation via topcashback and gives you the option of paying a deposit and the balance 11 weeks before departure. Thomson and Monarch's direct hotel bookings are also not on the comparison sites. Although not the cheapest overall they sometimes have very good prices for some hotels and dates. Again you can pick up cashback from them by going via topcashback, quidco etc.

Yes I agree with checking everyone for prices, especially checking Thomson hotel only bookings as generally they are expensive but now and again you can get some ridiculously low prices, they had a £1 a room a night offer on Playa Flamingo, playa blanca, Lanzarote and also a hotel on Fuerteventura, corralejo (cant remember the name) .

I booked a holiday on Madeira with Thomas Cook and the hotel we got as part of flight/hotel was actually half the price per night than available separately with the flight (TAP Portugal) costing the same.

    Worth a look!

Have a look at thomascook.com see if theres anything you like the price of then ring your local thomas cook shop see if they'll match it and save yourself the hassle of doing it, also they may offer you a discount on car parking at the airport or overnight hotel and you'll get their VIP rate on currency the euro was up yesterday, a little touch off 1.11. Also if you have a thomas cook credit card you earn points and no credit card fees.
