Hi, I sent the first letter to egg asking for my loan details with a cheque for £1 but they sent it back with a letter saying they have no records as i think the loan is over 6 years.
Can anybody help with the best action to take next. I know for sure i was paying for the cover but need to know the best way to claim it back,
Any help would be great
thanks
matt

Hi Matt and welcome.;)
Do you still have the account number?
If so then that is fine, they can still continue to investigate your ppi complaint with just the account number, but another way for your information on your account is to request a Subject Access Request (SAR).
This does though cost £10 postal order or cheque payment and they have 40 days to comply, post by recorded delivery.

This link above is the SAR template with details.
Then with reclaiming check this link here below and please post up for help anytime.;)

May I ask if the account is still running, even if this was settled within the last 5/6 years they should still hold details of your loan.
Good luck and please keep us posted. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

thanks for the quick response.
no the loan isnt still running it closed quite a few years ago, i think if i look deep enough into my old bank statements and paperwork hidden away somewhere i can find the ac!!!! number, i presume this would make it a lot easier and quicker.
if i find this which is the best template to use next?
thanks again

With pleasure Matt
You can check any old bank statements you may have or if you bank online as well you can check this way for the account number, this should allow you to go back as far as 6 years.
The loan account number should be shown next to the monthly repayments.
The link here below you will find templates, in stages, so use the first one if you want to or as a guide with your own reasons on how you believe you were mis sold, there is also a checklist on the link.
