Blaupunkt stereo problem

Hi.
My husband bought me a Blaupunkt San Fransisco 300 stereo for my car for xmas. He is trying to get it working for me but it says 'telephone' on the display and wont move from that whatever he does. Does anyone know how to override this.

Sounds to me like something strange has happened to the phone line cable and it constantly thinks you're in a call. Not sure how to fix it though sorry!0

Are you trying to fit it into a vauxhall by any chance. By default some cars connect the telephone mute cable. You need to disconnect this and it will work OK.0

Ah good, yes dodgy wiring is usually the cause of home fitted car stereos not working.0
