Year old TV has died - what are my options?

Good afternoon,
Basically i bought my TV just over a year ago and now the picture has pretty much died. Can anyone tell me what my options are with regards to refunds/replacements or should i just bite the bullet and accept the loss. Considering it cost so much i would expect it to have lasted a little longer than a year.
Thank You in advance.

You have to prove to the retailer that the tv was inherently faulty. If you can do so, you have the right to a proportionate refund, repair or replacement (at the discretion of the retailer).Gone ... or have I?0

googlr consumer rights or somthing similar,
im sure if an electrical product is under 6 yrs old you can get some money back.
My friend just claimed off tesco for a electric quad that died at 18months old she paid £350, they worked out percentages and gave her back £250.
Im sure the law says electrical items should last min 6yrs.
have a read of this:

You are wrong. Goods must last up to six years, depending on the item.Gone ... or have I?0 -
I read some where last year that electrical products are covered for 2 years in accordance with the EC guartantees on products. Also I had a similar experience on a small flat screen telly which died after 18 months, i managed to get a £99 refund,by complaining.0

SOGA offers the OP much more protection than the EC legislation.Gone ... or have I?0 -
HI
You have rights under the sale of goods act 1979 (as amended) this covers you for up to six years. Obviously if you bought a bin bag you wouldn't expect to last six years but a telly is different
How did you pay for it? If it was using credit or a credit card then you could claim from the credit co. or credit card company under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act which states they are equally liable in this instance.
What to do next. Contact Curry's in writing saying you wish to use your statutory rights. Don't take any baloney about contacting the manufacturer, your contract is with them. Don't take any notice that its past the one year mark either. Alternatively, if you bought it on credit or used a credit card phone them up and make a claim through them.
You could be entitled to a repair or a replacement from Currys or your money back from the credit (card) company. After all, a tv without a picture is actually a radio and not fit for purpose. The Cabbage
