Manchester wedding venues

  • Manchester Town Hall is quite impressive...we looked at it for a function we're holding next year; but the catering can be pricey.
From memore, Manchester Museum is decently priced, but they have restrictions on what drinks are able to be served (red wine is out in case it spills etc) - but both of those locations may be open to negotiation in the off-season?

I've just had a quote from The Place Hotel on Ducie St, it's quite expensive though. £2800 for:

33 people for drinks & canapes
75 people for a cold buffet
1 room for OH and I

The room hire alone is £1000

We're going to have a look round anyway because I really like the look of it but if I can't haggle that down quite a bit then I don't think we'll bother.

Chelbel - did you go and have a look round Sachas before booking? If you did and you liked it then don't worry about what others think. It doesn't have the best reputation as far as I know but it might be a load of rubbish. :)

The Lowry cheap? I suppose it depends on your budget but I wouldn't call it cheap at all.

The cheapest package is £35 per head and that is without food which starts at £35 per head for a 3 course meal and there are minimum numbers.

I've seen pictures of a wedding there though and it looked gorgeous, way, way out of my budget though! :)

Does it have to be the city centre? If not try, the Marriott Worsley Park Hotel (in Worsley, not far away), The Fours Seasons, Hale Barns, Bule Hill Park, Salford (http://www.salford.gov.uk/venue-hire.htm) or Taton Park (but I bet that will be well expensive).

    Good luck and congratulations! :)

One place we viewed want £1000 for room hire, I haggled for about three weeks and it got right down to £350, but then we picked somewhere else! :D
