Pretty desperately need to scan a document and have no idea what to do! Please talk me through it if you can!
I have a laptop and a connected printer - an old Epson Stylus CX3200.
On the printer there is a button next to the On button - called "scan" but when I press it nothing happens.
I have gone through the menu on the printer too and there is nothing about scanning.
I know how to print and how to copy but not scan.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks
Sparkly

I'm hoping that I did this years ago when I first got it otherwise I'm assuming that I wouldn't have been able to print all this time? (Sorry - hope that doesn't sound stroppy!) I have no software discs now to start again.

I have downloaded "drivers" for the Epson CX3200 (presumably "again") but when I click on Start - all programmes - Epson - I then only get the option to either uninstall or to "Read me". The pdf file Hairy G sent suggested I go down that route to get to a smart panel - but I can't seem to find it!
Thanks for your help anyway

If you can't find the CD that came with the printer, go to the Epson support website and download the software from there.
It should include the smart panel software that you need, and the (probably TWAIN) drivers that the scanner part of the printer needs.0 -
Try going to Control panel and selecting Scanners And Cameras you should see your scanner there this is the built in scanner software.0

all the drivers are here don't know if smartpanel is included,
This page says you need the CD

Not really going to be able to help here, but both myself and my niece have this printer.
The last time I scanned something with it on mine it worked ok, but it must be years since I used it for scanning. About 3 years ago my niece told me that scanning didn't work anymore on hers. I reinstalled the printer software, but couldn't ever get it to work and gave up.
If you've installed all the software that came with it, then try running Epson Smart Panel and click the 'Scan to File' button. If the Scan button on the printer doesn't work then I doubt this will either, but worth a shot.Nice to save.0 -
For scanners you may need the correct "Twain" driver.0
