Sms/text home phone for deaf relative help please

Hi Guys, we're looking for a SMS/Text capable home phone, big buttons, clear screen, relatively simple to use for 82 yr old deaf relative, cordless and answering machine would be good.
Anyone any recommendations or experience of this as we're going round in circles.

She's with Virgin so I guess we just ask Virgin to activate Caller Display service and it'll start accepting texts.

She's completely incommunicado once that front doors locked, so we need some way of communicating with her and vice verca, we though the answering machine would be good to leave a message requesting people ring back and send a text instead of leaving a voice message.

I have no experience of either phone.
