  • Have you looked at o2's offerings? They can connect the line and you might well find you get a better deal keeping everything together. They also appear to be about the best-rated telecoms company around.

If your new exchange has something called "LLU" (local loop unbundling) you may well be able to go directly onto o2's network if they have a presence there.

what do you mean by o2 connecting line?
  • Quite often people think that only BT can connect the line.

This is not so. o2 can connect ("activate") the line also, meaning everything is on one bill, if that's attractive to you.

ok thanks - what do they charge for line ?
  • Give them a call and see what sort of deal you can get for all your services and then compare that among providers. You have the option of everything from o2 (if "LLU"), or line rental from one supplier (e.g. the post office), broadband from another (Zen internet are excellent), calls from another etc. depending on who you go with.

If you have Sky I believe you can also have them connect the line and supply the calls package and broadband.

You should also consider what is most important to you - price or service. o2 seem virtually alone in the telecoms world for having quite a good reputation for customer service though I don't speak from experience.
