Anywhere I can buy large, durable cardboard boxes?

Hi Guys,

I'm doing a house clearance this month and I'm looking for somewhere around belfast I can buy reasonably large and most importantly durable cardboard boxes. Obviously the cheaper the better! :D

If anyone has any tips or recommendations let me know!

Thanks.

If you have any removal firms or self storage firms near you they may sell packing / storage boxes.

I asked a friend who worked in a bookstore last time I was moving house - book boxes are strong and durable and most importantly free. Why not ask and see if they'd let you have some? It saves them from having to dispose of them in other ways.
  • Last time I moved house the removal company suggested I use banana boxes....they like them because they are sturdy, stack easily and cant really be over loaded-weight wise.Believe it or not I found them quite hard to get at the time because lots of people were asking for them

I remember seeing a 'tower' of banana boxes in the underground car park of Sainsburys at Forrestside once, so maybe you can 'order' them and collect them from the carpark at a pre arranged place and time
  • Argos sell house moving packs. You could ask somwhere like currys or toys rus who have large heavy items. Morrisons give away banana boxes but you have to go in early for them as there not allowed to save them, maybe ring first see when they suggestn you call in, if you use banana boxes pick up some wine boxes to open up and strengthen the bottom as they usually have a piece of thin card.

I got my big strong boxes from Box It on the Montgomery Road, Castlereagh. They do smaller sizes as well - can't remember cost of them but the a** did not fall out of them.

When I lived in edinburgh I was able to get huge NCR boxes for £1.50, so far I'm not finding anything that cheap here!
