Short Break Needed

I am looking for some cheap and chearful suggestions on what to do for a short break. My OH is unemployed after being made redundant so we don't have alot of cash to sepnd. We were gonna go camping further north of Scotland camping but since he suffering from very bad hayfever at the moment I think that is gonna get ruled out! I have 19th-23rd July off and would consider a lesuire hotel break but most seem to be booked out! I am in desperate need of suggestions as I have not had a holiday this year yet!

You do not say where you are based, or how far you want to travel, my partner and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend in the Derbyshire Peak District, surely the most under-rated place in the UK.

We live in the North East, so if you wish to go to anywhere in the North, I should be able to offer some advice.
