Boxing Day parking tickets

Has anyone had any success in the past appealing against parking tickets issued on boxing day? I stupidly fell into the mistake of getting one this year for parking in a resident's only space, not realising that boxing day was not an official bank holiday cos it fell on a Saturday.
I've gone through the first stage of appeal with Kensington and Chelsea council, but it has been rejected.
Seems really unfair as half the London boroughs chose not to charge on that day, and K & C closed most of their other services on that day, acknowledging in my eyes that they regarded it as a public holiday!

Are the closed services normally open on a Saturday? If so probably worth an appeal, if not then probably notIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

Photo/scan the pcn Both Sides, and the rejection letter, host on tinypic and put the url on this thread leaving off the http:// bit. Photo's of lines/signs and any bays would also help others to help you. You will soon be getting an NTO so do the same for this. Official doc's are often wrong and can be used in an appeal.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

As far as I know, this isn't a valid reason to ignore parking restrictions. I mean, don't get me wrong, good luck with appeals and finding fault in the ticket, but I don't think any of us have an entitlement to park where we like on certain days, unless the parking restrictions themselves say so.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0
