  • If your current car is fundamantally reliable and goes through the MOT ok every year, and all else is hunky dory ie engine etc, then sometimes it can be a case of better the devil you know and get your car fixed rather than buy another car that may be a lemon. Phone round for some quotes on the clutch and see how you get on.

Even a new car will still cost you to maintain it, a clutch isn't that expensive to replace.

Your user ID implies that you don't really want to get further in to debt, think long and hard about it.

OK! We're not going to buy a new car - we'll just get the clutch done and finish paying debt off.

By June it will all be gone! Then we can start SAVING for a new car.

Thanks mate - good challenge :T

Got a 2000 mondeo here had it nearly 8 years is in mint condition and never broke down.

Go for Ford or Vauxhall to keep cost of spares/parts low.

Keeping your car may not be the best option, expensive repairs can be required at any time.

Suzuki are doing a 0% offer on the Swift, a great wee car. Over 3 years, £200/month with £1,000 deposit.
