Abbey send out letters

Well today I received my letter from Abbey.
Its basically along the same lines as other banks.
"We are satifsied that the bank charges you seek to reclaim were properly charged and the outcome of the legal proceedings confirms our poistion"
I love the end bit where it says if you are not happy then complain to the Ombudsman and then points to a url http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/faq/bank-charges.html which basically states there is no point.
I have eight weeks now to challenge this, so I doubt anything major will happen in that time in my favor.

I got a similar one today, not sounding overly positive.0

Hi
I got a letter from Abbey today too saying basically the same thing.
My worry is that they did refund my charges under the hardship rule. They refunded it via the account with CCCS so in effect my balance owing to Abbey just came right down and I owe around £40 still.
By receiving this letter now I'm wondering whether they are going to reverse that "payment"? Can they do that?
Or, is it because my details are on their records, it is just an automatic send out letter?
Any advice anyone please?
Thanks

Don't worry the monies paid to you will not be claimed back. The payment will have been made saying they didn't do anything wrong but was made as a goodwill gesture.sunshine38 wrote: »Hi
