Extending wireless network range

Morning all.

Over Christmas I gave my parents my old wirless cable router (Linksys WRT54G) and my younger brother has subsequently set up the wirless network. They are all now complaining that the wireless signal doesn't extend far enough across the house to the extent of no/very little signal (resulting in drop-outs) in the living room.

Unfortunatley the location of the router isn't great, at the corner of the house. Moving it would be a pain as there are also computers on a wired network plugged in and these wires cannot be moved (ie well, they can but it would be a right pain ).

Is it possible to use a second wireless router to "piggy back" the signal and extend the network range? I've seen additional attennas, but these cost upward of £60 and I was hoping for a sum nearer £30.

Any input would be great.

thanks

For £30 you could probably get a newer router (better range)?

Although not ideal moving the location of the router will help slightly and definitely cost less than £30.

The WRT54G is a good model, be it old so not sure if a new router alone would have any bnefit. If a new router could be incorporated into the same wireless network and piggyback....

Also, no point in looking for 'Wireless N' as none of the relevant computers (and more imortantly the PS3 ) have N-compatible adapters.
