Perhaps its my imagination but I recall that upon getting my 720p toshiba LCD TV, the virgin tv menu/navigation menus got a bit small and sharper when I changed the settings to HDMI.
Imagine your monitor was in 640 by 480 and you changed the resoultion to 1024 by 768. The text would become smaller but clearer.
Since getting my 40" samsung 1080p TV the menus seem to have gone larger. Yup bigger telly but I mean a lot larger, as though the menus arent in a particularly high resolution.
The HD channels look awesome but the virgin menus and TV guide and fuzzy!!
Perhaps Im loosing the plot....

Can you set RGB output instead of PAL on the Virgin STB. Is the Virgin STB on scart or HDMI0

My grandfather has Virgin HD. I set the output to 1080i to feed his 768 Panasonic tv and the menus looked awful. I found it was far better setting the box to 720P. Why this is I have no idea as he doesnt have any other HD sources to try:idea:0

Theoretically I would agree. Why my grandfathers was fuzzy I have no clue. Whether or not this affects picture quality I have no clue without really trying it out for myself
I might have a bit of a look into it at some time but for now I have no concrete answers:idea:0
