Best 4 slice toaster to get?

We've got the Tefal Avanti 4 slice too...still working well after 4 years0

Wow... all you Tefal users, good to see all the reviews are not all right, as I was put off the Tefal by its tendency to not last very long.
Actiongirl, good your Dualit has lasted, tho I would jolly well hope so! They are running at about £170-£200 these days! I think I could go thru a few lesser models for less than that over the 7yrs. Hope yours keeps going for another 7 years anyway, they are the biz if you can afford to splash out, but that's a big splash after paying for the granite, (got a great deal in the end tho!) and paying full price for the Franke double sink (no deals around, I did try hard lol). Still got decorating to finish off, adn maybe blinds for the patio door...it goes on and on...
I know it depends on how hard a toaster has to work, and I agree I've had basic cheapy models which have lasted ages, but want a 4 slice now for my sons house to go with their new updated kitchen.
They came home rather merry(!ha! IYKWIM) on Xmas eve at 2.00am, demanding scrambled egg on toast. I was still up, so agreed to cook it for them. They then tell me they have thrown out the (ageing, but fully working) toaster, and also the bread as well (doh!) in their Xmas over-enthusiastic tidy up! Had to go get the toaster from my house (not far and cheaper than putting the big grill on) and bread out of the freezer!....Yes, I know they are spoilt-well what are mums for?Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. Perhaps I should start a new thread, you've got me wondering what the record is for the longest working toaster now....:DBless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!

FWIW, when I was a student the halls of residence had Dualit toasters - they were the only thing that stood up to the abuse they got:rotfl:They soldiered on for easily well over 10 years of studenty use.0

Well I'm pleased to report that I've just ordered the MorphyRichards to collect later today...I like the look of it, but its not to fussy, lots of features, including taking the bigger slices of bread with extra deep slots...and the levers even go with the kitchen unit handles!
Amaz*n had it for £29.48 + P+P, saving 57% of rrp £69.99 - but I did a quick google compare and found the same one at B&Q for £14.99!! :j :money:
Sending hubby to get it tonight on way home from work and I've just had a text confirmation that it is reserved. Its not often that I'm impressed with B&Q!
As long as it is waiting for me as promised, I will give em a thumbs up on the praise board....laters folks...Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!

Want a 4 slice here as well but can't bring myself to throw the 2 slice until it gives up the ghost, its also a tefal which we have had about 4 years, and it works hard with 5 of us lol.

Oh poo...thought it was a bit too good to be true!
B&Q just rang to say they have no stock, even tho the website says it does and will reserve for you...
So its back to searching then, and no praise for B&Q and their inaccurate system.Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!

Another dualit fan here - still going strong and over 8 years old. Dualit kettle also bought at the same time and still going.
A friend has bought cheaper ones and is on her 3rd toaster and 4th kettle. So little money - so much time :mad:0 -
I've got a Dualit too - got it from Costco and IIRC it was £119.
I wouldn't have any other sort now...(mind you, I'll never need to buy another toaster!)0 -

Sunnygirl, I am going to try the glass cleaner tip.. Thanks

And another one - I've had it for about 3 1/2 years - no problems and not too huge or an eyesore.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0
