in Credit cards
hi all, have got an issue to sort out and i need help as getting fed up cos i don't know what else to do.
i have recently had the worst time of my life, was diagnosed with cancer and have spent the last 18 months having treatment etc, i lived, very stupidly off my credit card as benefits were not even enough to cover my living expenses.
now all the treatment is finished, hopefully and i am on the way up again, BUT now i have all this debt to get rid of, i want to transfer the balance to a lower rate card, but can't seem to get anywhere with it and my circumstances now has caused a lot of issues that i have to live with
any ideas please

Congratulations for your battle against cancer.
I would book an appointment with the local CAB and discuss the financial issues with them. They can usually be relied on to formulate a satisfactory arrangement.0 -

Well done on beating the cancer.
This is surely more important than money, so try to keep it in perspective.
Sorry for stating the obvious, but there are oinyl really a few ways round your problem.
1) Get more income. This is difficult right now, but could you do odd jobs for wealthier family members?, could you do voluntary work to get experience? I'm certainly looking for cleaning/ironing help at the moment, so there definitely IS work out there, it's just a caseof finding it and being flexible short term (you may need to do work you don't like short term to get experience/money). I would start with the wealthy areas of town also maybe try the OAP homes. My folks are disabled and need help with even simple tasks like shopping and getting laundry done. Are there any old folks places near you?
2) Look at every area of your spending. You may well have done this already, but you need to scrutinise everything. You start this process by writing everything down. Do you have items you could sell on ebay, amazon, car boot?
3) Get some advice from the CAB on how to manage your debts. Don't pay anyone for advice, get it for free.
Try to keep your chin up, after all the money is less important than the cancer :T0
