Travelodge Room Cancelation Insurance??

Have booked some rooms at the discount rate that was advertised on here.

As part of the deal at £9, the room cancellation insurance was added for £1 as an extra..

Can anyone tell me exactly what this is?

Is this if you know you can't make that particular booked day you are allowed to cancel and recieve a refund in advance?

We have a room booked for this Friday and maybe due to snow may not be able to get there!

If we know on the morning, can we cancel this and use our "cancellation insurance?

Thanks

Full details of what's covered in the insurance are given here (from the Travelodge website) http://www.travelodge.co.uk/refund_cover/

Looks like you can't just change your mind, but have to have evidence proving you broke down or your transport arangments were cancelled or delayed.

    Thanks!

It does mention about Weather, and obviously travelling in snow is something that is down to the elements, but knowing Travelodge, I would have to fight it that I couldn't get there!!

I never buy it because a claim for £9 will probably be more hassle than it`s worth.
There could even be an excess.
When you book £9 rooms you basically take a risk that you can go.

We had this and couldn't claim on it when we had to cancel our room over the summer due to train strikes. Wish we'd only lost on a £9 room though :(
