Fancy a cheap holiday at the Combe Haven Caravan Park in Hastings?

Hi all!
I have booked and paid a holiday from The Sun newspaper-going on 10 July 2006 for 4 days and for 4 people but unfortunately I will not be able to go.
Initially the holiday was £60.00 but I upgraded to a Super Luxury 2 Bedroom and paid an extra £145.00. The total cost is £205.00 including power charge and 3 entertainment passes.
If anyone is interested please pm me and I would be able to advise you further.

  • Just come back from Coombe Haven, the 3rd time we've been and definitely the worst.

Nothing wrong with the entertainment etc on site, more a gripe with their customer services.

We booked the Sun deal and were given one of their Bungalows. After we unpacked we noticed that the place was crawling with Ants. Called reception, and they sent housekeeping round but to be honest, they were useless, and didn't have any ant powder etc to deal with the problem. The people in the bungalow up from us told us that thy had been moved from there because of the ants.

We complained and asked to be moved, and were told that we would have to pack everything back into the car before they would let us even look at alternative accomodation.

Doing this with a 1 yr old child is awkward, but they have a policy (allegedly) of not allowing people to have keys to 2 lots of accomodation at the same time, even though the couple who moved were allowed to check the alternative bungalow out prior to moving.

Long story short, they let my wife have a key to a caravan, which had not been cleaned, even had full ashtray on the table!

Went back and complained and eventually housekeeping showed us another bungalow which apart from having a broken window was ok. But they still told us we had to pack everything up into the car and hand the key back before they would release the key to the new one.

I am writing to their head office as the treatment from customer services there was awful...their reason for not letting us have both keys is because they need to book other people into the accomodation....how can they do that if they didn't know if we were going to move?

The site itself is great, but make sure you check your accomodation thoroughly prior to moving your stuff in.
