Greetings one and all
Have a bit of of teaser here to do with networking.
I have 3 computers all running Windows 7 and one of them being a laptop the other 2 are wired. They are all networked and can see files on the other ones and I am able to modify from one to another pc with no problem.
If i haven't used one of the pcs for a while it will go into standby then if i try and access it from another pc i have no joy..
Is there a way of waking the PC up /taking it of of standby remotely. This would then enable me to access said PC
Any help would be appreciated

Haven't tried this myself but I think there is a setting in the pc bios when you boot up that's called "wakeup on lan"

How technical are you? Do you know how to find the MAC address of the Network Interface Card (NIC) on the target PC? Can you set up a desktop shortcut? Are you familiar with Device Manager?
I use WolCmd many times a day at work to do precisely what you want to do, but it needs some technical knowledge to set up...0 -
Cheers for the responses.
