edimax 7727IN W7 x64 lag

im running windows 7 x64 and it's quite laggy with the internet, i get 3/5 bar wireless signal. My laptop runs windows 7 beta fine and gets 4/5 to 5/5 signal and runs at 6mb/s and 1.25mb/s, but i want to be able to use my desktop because its much faster, and generally better.

I've tried drivers, installed the windows 7 driver from the edimax site but no joy. Everytime i log in it will flash limited connectivity twice then connect. It didnt drop out.

However, now it refuses to connect to the wireless network saying its either the wireless card or the router. As i said before, ALL other devices work fine on the network.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks for your help!

Floz

ahh ok, is there any way to stop windows 7 from managing the wireless? because that might be what causes the conflict?

May also be different cause i use G, not N wireless.

hmm, i got the latest one installed which is newer, driver version 3.0.11.0 released on the 11-26-09. and it still doesnt work. It wont pick up my routers signal, it is not listed. Maybe it's a router issue?
