Help! My son (18 and just finished A level exams) is going tomorrow to Germany and I have not been able so far to find out how to get him a youth or studend card to qualify for travel discounts (train). I have found the ISIC card site but the card, which costs £ 7, SEEMS to be just for accomodation/entertainment, etc. in SPECIFIC places. It does not say anything about transport, which is what we want. Would ge get a discount due to his age or do we need something else than his passport. Can someone help please? We are desperately short of time!! THANKS!

This is an update to my previous call for help: I have been in touch with ISIC (on their high cost 0870 number with umpteen options. Do not bother with their online contact form, it does not work) and found out the best they can offer is a rail pass that costs £145. They should send it by mail and it would be too late for us. I do not know the cost of trains in Germany but I am publishing this in case it is of help to anybody. ISIC is an independent commercial company. I would have expected some official resource available for young people...0

When I was udner 26 I went with STA-Travel as they give student/young people fares and prices2p off is still 2p off!0
