MBNA credit card personal protection cover

Hi, could i ask for a little advice on which direction to go now.
I recently used one of the template letters to ask for my original credit agreement from MBNA as i do not remember ever requesting the personal protection cover, which i have now cancelled.
I have not recieved a copy of the agreement but they have sent me a breakdown on premiums paid back to May 2005.
There leter reads as follows
"thank you for your letter dated 23rd november 2009 regarding the insurance on your mbna credit card account.
as requested, please find attached a breakdown of all insurance charges applied to your account since may2005. Please note we are unable to provide information prior to this date as the account was previously admistered by halifax. Please contact halifax direct should you require this information.
Please note, details provided by halifax indicate you requested payment protection cover during a telephone conversation with one of their specialists on 6 october 2003. Following this call, a welcome pack containing the terms and conditions of the policy was issued to you. This gave you 30 day obligation free period in which to cancel the policy should it not have met your requirements. As they did not recieve a cancellation request from you during this period, the policy remained active on your account and premiums were charged.
should you have any further queries etc etc"
I do not remember this telephone conversation and can not recall this welcome pack.
Can any one suggest where to go from here.
regards

Hello there
I would therefore write to Halifax and enclose a copy of the letter you received from the above.
I would also ask if they have any recordings from telephone conversations in either by a form of a disk or a written transcript.
However, for more information on your account you could if you want to and if you have not done so yet - is request a Subject Access Request (SAR) where they send all the info they hold on you.
Here is the link to the template with details below, if you decide to do this then you enclose a payment of £10 postal order or cheque payment, and they have 40 days to comply, and of course its recommended to post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.

They should actually enclose any conversations that taken place within the SAR transcripts with dates as well.;)
Hopefully the agreement should come along with that, but normally just to request for this alone is a £1 postal order or cheque payment where they have 12 days to send this to you.
If you do not agree with their decision, sometimes they give you the opportunity to write back to them with further information, so basically try to keep on at them until you get the result you want, or until they give you the details of the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
Hope this helps, please keep us posted and good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
