My shower thermostat has just packed up and a friend told me to buy a triton but there are loads!
Best find so far is Triton Hawaii at £50 8.5kw argos
Triton Madrid II 8.5kw £65 Argos
Triton Ivory 8.5kw £66 Homebase
Triton Cara 9.5kw £67 B&Q
Triton Cara 10.5kw £76 B&Q
Triton Jade 8.5kw £89 save £30 Homebase
Triton Ivory 10.5kw £89 save £30 Homebase

Anyone know which would be best please? (bearing in mind I have £50 vouchers for argos!!!) Oh and I will try and fit it myself! :j

Thanks for any help :T

None of them as they are all Triton..not as good as they used to be apparently. Mira seem to get recommended more these days.

What shower is already there..in particularly what power? If the new shower is higher powered than the old it may also require new thicker cable back to the consumer unit. Being a bathroom Part P notification comes into play. Get a plumber with electrical qualifications to fit. Or you could plumb it yourself (if the inlet is in a different position may be tricky) and then get a sparks in to connect up and issue relevant paperwork.

Anyway If you must have electric i'd go for Mira above Triton.

Hi I recently bought the Triton Jade and I think it is very good. My freind who is an electrician recommended it. It was the 8.5 kw. It has a on off button and looks nice also. I would recommend it. Argos ones may also be good. Problem is there are som many makes of Triton out there.

I got mine fitted for £50 and he did a good job. Just be careful that it covers the old one in terms of size especially if the tiles have been cut away to fix the old shower.
  • What is the shower you have now?
    Not Again
  • Thanks for the replies I have a Heatstore Aquaplus which I think is 8.5kw but there is nothing on there to say? so I guess have to have 8.5 to be on safeside unless I take off panel again and have another look as didn't think to check that.............. Maybe I will get a man in haha!
  • Just incase I missed a bargain, I put an ad on Freecycle to see if anyone had a spare lying in garage and am picking up a Triton T80 for free tomorrow and also a shower rail and curtain!!!

Is that a pumped electric shower?

Have you got low mains pressure?

If its an Electric shower and your in it for more than a few minutes then its costing a fortune to run.If You have a hot water cylinder Id go for an Aqua-Lisa "Aqua stream"excellant quality. It will use the water from the tank and the internal pump will give it good pressure.

My Aqua-Lisa has 2 setting 12lts and 18lts of water a minute. We usually keep it on 12 but if we fancy a sandblasting we tweek it up to 18...Lurvelly...

More money to buy initially but saving in the long run..

When buying a Triton, the guarantee form asks for a number, which is situated under the shower unit.Make a note before fitting as difficult afterwards. Tiny print.
