Apart from all those opportunities mentioned you could try contacting your local council to be involved in vote counting at the council and local elections . My wife is doing it and getting paid about £10 an hour plus expenses . Obviously this won't make you rich , but a little extra is always very handy.0

A friend of mine did a year at college doing access to nursing course and then went to local uni to do nursing. she is now in her 3rd year and will qualify in september. her year all have hospital jobs guaranteed if they want them all though not sure if they are permanent initially.
This has all been supplemented by bank work in holidays and weekends.
