Surveys, searches, clicks, cashback (like quidco) etc. are really just the cherry ontop of the cake. They're a nice bit on the side, but the key word is 'bit'. They're not really meant to be a full income and the reason is that there are no qualifications required so the pay is usually below minimum wage. But there are various websites and threads on here with a search that will bring up the geenric info on each of them if you need. In your situation though it'd probably be better to make use of your individual skills in some way to reach higher paying work, you could list your skills and then some more personal suggestions could perhaps be made. Just having a quick scoot through your posting history you say you have:

    - Some experience in sales. Therefore you might consider doing sales via a company, on the first page of the Up Your Income forum is some threads such as the Avon product sellers, Phoenix traders, Partylite.

Then of course there's selling on eBay, a common topic. One that often comes up in this thread which promotes buying up cheap goods and re-selling them:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2140769

Then there are those who sell for companies via the internet via Affiliate Marketing using companies such as Comission Junction, Clickbank and the like. This webpage lists various sites where Affiliate Marketers discuss tips and tricks like the MoneySaving Expert forums do:
    http://www.doshdosh.com/26-affiliate-marketing-and-webmaster-forums-to-help-you-make-money-online/

    - Done some teaching for Construction students. Therefore you could do some teaching at a local college or school either full or part-time, and do training/qualifications whilst on the job. Or follow this private tutoring thread:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=577838

You could also use your skills in teaching/information to put up some helpful pages on the net on topics that people may often want to know about. e.g. since your topic was construction many homemakers might look up tips on the net about improving their home. Stick up some decent pages with Google Adsense and a touch of Search Engine Optimisation (lots of articles on this) and you may get a trickle running through on the side of other work.

You could also write a instructional book or document on the topic and sell that (this is what the Clickbank I mentioned earlier is often used for, people publish e-books etc. and get other people to sell it for them for a comission).

    - Got a car. If you still have it you could see if you could earn money using it. Such as delivery/courier jobs. Becoming a driving instructor. And I have heard some babble about allowing companies to do mobile advertising on your car. Relating to this point, got experience driving and probably have a driving liscence. So could perhaps look into Royal Mail and other postal service courier work though I guess its trucks and vans, they may have on-site training.

    - I'm not sure what aspects of Construction you deal with not having any knolwedge in the area myself. But if there are small jobs you could do with any resources you may have to hand you could advertise locally as a freelance handyman / construction helper etc.

List your skills or experience and think of ways to monetise each one in any way possible, think outside the box if necessary. Just try not to get too bogged down in reading and researching. It's really easy to get info overload on the net. If you see something you may like, get stuck in, however small, to get the ball rolling. Write a pragraph, send a application, make a call, anything. Good luck.

What a fantastic post, ill be looking into the things you have mentioned. As far as the construction goes there is very little work for plasters at the moment and as I have not been doing it that long I dont have the same rep as some of the older generation. What I seemed to of noticed lately is the amount of call for nurses. My missis works as a home carer and says its quite rewarding job. My mate who I do kickboxing with is also studying nursing in uni so I may be temped to follow this route.
Being 26 and not having a great deal of qualifications im unsure of weather I would be excepted as a mature student or not, but having searched the job centre site the call for nursing is starting to tempt me.

    hi there,

have you ever thought of applying to a bank agency for healthcare assistant work at your nearby hospital, my family needed a little more income to clear debt, so i applied for such a post and stated during interview that i could only work weekends, i got the job. You have to ring them often and ask for shifts. If you are considering nursing, then you could also do this to earn income while studying, it is flexible and it gives you experience. I know that my hospital agency is always looking for hca's, they keep sending me the details even though i already work for them. Just a thought for you. It is not an easy job at all, but it is rewarding, and each shift is different, i get to work on various wards, so your role can slightly vary. If you want to know anymore then just ask.
As for survey sites etc, i do these, and use the vouchers for christmas, so they are great to do in that sense, you just need to know the right ones to do.

What qualifications do you have? The requirements for universities have changed a lot, you might be able to get on a course, especially as a mature student.

plenty of ideas....survey sites, paid article writing, you could set up a website and try to make money from it (can be difficult but if you find the right niche then can pay well). Btw there are other free paid search engines like the one you described. See some of my other posts and i've linked to a site which tells you some of these ideas including the paid search engines.

    Hi there,

I had experience of working in a care home, but that was 9 years prior to applying, and i only worked there for a year. Some people that were on the training day with me didnt have experience though, you need to show that you have a caring nature, and that you will put the patients first, for instance they know i have two young children, so in interview one of the questions they asked was after a busy shift, you are tired and missing your kids, and you want to get home to see them before they go to bed, as you are leaving you see a patient wandering around off the ward looking distressed, what would you do? obviously you would see to the patient.

You need to draw on your experiences, and try to use them to your advantage when you fill out an application form, i think all application forms are now filled out onliine for the nhs, its the nhs jobs website.

    Hope that helps.
