Can anybody please help????
I recently had car insurance quote via Confused.com (a very good quote!!) However when i phoned to take up the offer i was told they wouldn't honour it as it was only this good due to a system error. They wouldn't put me on to a manager and was quite rude about it all. Where do i stand? Can The FSA make them honour it???

Yes they can. It is only a "quotation". They do not have to stand by it if they recognise that an error has been made.
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
  • ok thanks, wishful thinking i suppose. had a feeling something was wrong, it was nearly £200 cheaper than other quotes! although i would have paid for it online if they'd have accepted my wifes credit card. only had to phone cos it wasn't my name on the card. thanks.
  • You will find that all online businesses have "get out of jail" clauses in their terms and conditions and one of these specifically refers to pricing errors. Forums such as this routinely have threads on retailer "X" refusing to honour a price of £9.99 instead of a price of £999.99 etc.

At law, it goes back to the principles of offer, acceptance and invitation to treat.
