Getting out of a lease

I recently signed for a six month tenancy with Belvoir but have now been offered a new job with live in accommodation. Is there anyway I can get out?

You could pay the full rent for the 6 months and then leave? Presumably you signed a contract!!
But - in a slightly more helpful tone - my tenant did this to me, and we negotiated and worked a way out of it. He understood his obligations, so he did everything he could to help me re-let the place, and covered the rent until a new tenant moved in. As he was so helpful (he even moved straight out and had the place spotless to show new tenants) the place was re-let in 2 weeks.
I actually managed a slightly higher rent, so I repaid him some of his rent, as I was in fact better off. Luckily for him I managed a private rental, otherwise I would have charged him the agency cost if I'd had to pay it.
Of course I can't say your landlord will react in the same way, but I suggest you be honest, negotiate, and show up with a plan of action so your landlord can see you have thought of a way out, which is fair to both side. If you have signed a contract, then you are legally obliged to perform it, unless your landlord is willing to let you off it. And that is much more likely if you are polite, trustworthy and helpful.0 -

I wasnt, I already have a good job but have been offered something else which is much better.
I will continue to pay my rent but if I could get out would be ideal.0 -
kmmr has summed up things.. a LL IS entitled to charge you rent and all tenant finding fees until a new tenant is found....0
